Over the course of these past few weeks, Little Dude has really been asserting his independence. Like, big time and in ways we'd never seen before. Whenever something needs to be done, he often reminds us, "My turn!" meaning, "Let me do it myself!" He likes to turn the lights on & off by himself. He likes to climb into his carseat by himself. He puts his plate in the sink and his sippy cup of milk in the fridge (if there is still milk left) when he's done with it.
(And on that note, we discovered he's able to drink from a non-sippy cup now too. He still has an occasional spill, but for the most part, he's quite coordinated with the lidless cup).
Any buttons that need to be pushed, switches that need to be flipped, knobs that need to be turned, and doors that need to be opened or closed, he wants to do it. And when he feels like he's doing something to help, he beams with pride and announces, "I did it!"
I can't believe how quickly he's growing up. I don't know at which age a child is considered a preschooler as opposed to a toddler, but that day is approaching faster than I care to acknowledge. But at the same time, it's still a blast watching him grow into the amazing little boy he's becoming.
(Oh, and by the way, he still doesn't get out of bed once he's in it. Not until one of us goes in to get him....cool!)
