New Moon = Good stuff! Well worth using 1/2 day of vacation time to see it, especially since the theater was extremely not-crowded. I would say it was filled to probably only 30-40% capacity. And no teeny boppers! It was mostly a 'crowd' of 30-somethings like us who probably did exactly what we did: opted for an afternoon viewing at nearly half the cost of an evening show with no hassles or teen screams when Jacob goes shirtless....not that it stopped Kerry from giggling like a school girl...hee hee!!
I was a little stunned on Thursday night, however, when Kim & I went to see Christmas Carol in 3D (also a great movie and tons of fun in 3D!!!), and the lines for Twilight/New Moon were already well-formed when we arrived to the theater at 5:30pm. By the time our movie was over and we were leaving the theater at 7:30pm, the lines were out the doors. The line consisted of almost all girls who looked to be around 14-18 for the most part. I saw no one dressed in character as I half expected, but almost all of them were wearing some kind of New Moon merchandise (t-shirts, sweatshirts, jewelry....). I decided to ask the girl who was first in line what time she'd gotten there to get her place. 9:30am!! That girl was sitting at the theater all. freakin. day. Just to make sure she got a good seat in the auditorium (because they'd all purchased their tickets ahead of time so it wasn't a ticket issue). YIKES! I like New Moon and I'm probably considered a Twi-Mom by some standards. But most likely to those people, I'm just a wannabe.
Knowing me the way I know me, it wouldn't shock me to find myself back in the theater again at least once before it ends (Kerry? You up for another viewing? Hee hee!). And on that note, let me just say:
In non-Twilight news, just four days till Thanksgiving and five days till Black Friday. I'm excited about a three-day work week, seeing my aunt, uncle, and cousins, a four-day weekend, turkey & stuffing, hanging with my friends, and kicking off the Christmas shopping season ('cuz I'm one of those people who doesn't start any sooner than Black Friday).
