Today is Day 3 of our 4-day weekend, and boy, have we packed a lot of stuff into it (as we do every year).
Thanksgiving Day found us at my grandparents' house enjoying turkey and all the fixins. Dan made stuffing, broccoli with lemon sauce, cookies, and a lemon jello/layer dessert. And I couldn't even begin to start listing all the other food that we had. All I know is that we were eating and eating and eating and eating from Thursday afternoon until...well...we're still eating!
Sean went napless on Thursday afternoon which turned out to be a great thing! He was in a fantastic mood and very well-behaved all day and it was one less thing we had to worry about (where to put him for nap, how loud was the house, etc....). My mom took him home with her Thursday evening where he stayed the night so I could get up at zero-dark-thirty on Friday morning and Daddy could sleep in.
I did manage to drag my sorry rear out of bed at 3am on Friday morning and make my way to Target where the line was already quite long (Target opened at 5am). My friends, who were hitting Kohls first, met me there around 4:30. I did, however, manage to score the deals for which I went so it was worth it. After leaving Target around 5:20am, Kerry & I decided to hit up Toys R Us while Becky & her husband went to Walmart. I was hoping, but not expecting, to maybe see if the Guitar Hero bundle for the Nintendo DS was still available (it's a $70 set they were selling for $30!!). Imagine my shock and excitement when not only was Toys R Us amazingly not busy, but they also had my game!! We were in & out of there by 5:30!! So off we went to Bed Bath And Beyond, where they were offering 20% off your entire purchase.
By 6am, we were so ready for breakfast, so the eight of us all met back up again at Flap Jack to eat. From there, I went home and the rest of 'em continued shopping.
Durings Sean's nap on Friday afternoon, I joined my family at the theater where we saw Christmas Carol in 3D, but this time it was on the IMAX screen! It was awesome!! And it ended exactly as it did the first time I saw it, hee hee! Rather than go to the movies, Dan opted to stay home and continue the basement project. It's looking great! I'll post pics when it's done (it's a disaster right now as things are shuffled all over the place to make room for him to work).
My aunt, uncle, and cousins (and their significant others) are leaving to go back to Indiana today, and we'll be spending the next two days convincing Sean that Chex Mix is not a meal. Wish us luck with that....
I'll be loading pix to the photo album in a bit.
