(Showing off his new Batman Underoos)

I knew it. I just knew that putting it in writing would jinx it. He woke up with a wet Pull-Up this morning. Honestly, that doesn't bother me. Nighttime (and even nap time) control is the least of my concerns and expectations right now. But... well... he also failed to do a #2 on the potty today. His first "accident" in five days. In his defense, we had a lot going on today. He did say he had to go, but he also knew that he was going to the park with Aunt Janet, and I'm pretty sure he was afraid that sitting on the potty would replace the time he'd have at the park, and he wanted to go!! So we put him on the potty, but he immediately said, "I all done."

Well, Mom & I left (Aunt Janet was babysitting while we went to Howell) and Aunt Janet took him to the park. And apparently they'd been at the park all of two minutes when Sean announced, "I poopy." *sigh*

I'm still strongly encouraged by the fact that he spent the last four days doing all his business in the potty! Accidents are going to happen, and I'm hoping that today was just a result of excitement and distraction. But man-oh-man! I just had to put it in writing yesterday, didn't I? Hahaha!

Daddy is working again today and we don't expect to see him till after 7pm again this evening. I think this coming week will be much the same. 'Tis the season. As I mentioned earlier, I took a road trip to Howell with Mom & Grandma today to do some outlet shopping while Sean stayed with Aunt Janet. We took Mom's new convertible and today was a perfect top-down day! The only downside: even with my hair pulled back into a ponytail, it took a good several minutes to comb out all the tangles. Ouch!

(Edited at 6:14pm to add.... he did a #2 on the potty soon after I posted this entry! So YAY! He probably really was just excited & distracted earlier!)

It's once again that time of year: Changover. Dan had to be to work this morning by 7:30am and he didn't arrive home till around 7:30ish tonight. On the upside, however, Sean and I had a lovely day. It was gray and rainy here so we... well... we never even got out of our pajamas. All day. We putzed around, played with cars & trains & puzzles.... My mom came over this morning for a few hours and we enjoyed a pizza lunch with her... Not too shabby for a rainy day in my opinion.

I fear posting this that I might jinx something, but I can't help myself so let me proceed with cautious optimism: Sean -- for four days in a row now -- has done all his business in the potty. And I mean all his business. For 24 hours a day (aka: dry Pull-Ups after naps and in the mornings). I'm only writing this for documentation purposes and not because I'm doing a major happy jig inside.

Funny Sean moment today: We were playing with a puzzle he has that spells his name. So I said, "S-E-A-N. What's that spell?" (And for the record, he knows what it spells). His response: "Tinkerbell!" Umm......

I had my 28-week appointment today (at 28w2d)... so far so good!! Baby weighed in at a whopping 3 lbs, 1 oz. which is in the 75th percentile for his gestational age. His heart rate was 156 bpm. He's no longer breech but is considered transverse (sideways), although he did move his head up during the ultrasound, into a position that would be considered breech. His head is consistently on the left side of my body though, where his big brother was always on my right. Does that mean I have a democrat and a republican?

I'm posting a picture that made me laugh out loud during the scan. I know it's a normal position for a baby to be in, but wowza! It looks awfully uncomfortable.

Introducing our son: the contortionist.

I know ultrasound photos are hard for most people to figure out, but that's his leg up by his head (his face is toward the camera). I have another one they did from the top of his head which shows the two hemispheres of his brain, right next to his toes (!). Crazy acrobat child. He has chubby cheeks and is -- in the words of Mary Poppins -- "practically perfect in every way."

In addition to the doctor visit, I also did my 1-hour glucose test this morning. I'm SO hoping to pass this time! I failed the 1-hour with Sean by six measly points, which meant I had to take the 3-hour test. It made me feel so sick... I'd really like to not take it again.

Today was the last of my monthly appointments. I will be going again in two weeks (at 30 weeks), then again two weeks later (at 32 weeks), then twice weekly from there on out for non-stress tests and growth ultrasounds with fluid checks. Same protocol as I had with Sean.

Honestly, I'm ecstatic about all the monitoring. I think it's the only time in my life I'm thanking my lucky stars for high elevated blood pressure, hee hee! It's just enough of a concern to warrant extra attention, but not dangerous enough to hurt the baby when properly monitored.

C-section should be October 4th. We have 76 days to give him a name.

We celebrated my Mom's 60th birthday today with a lovely brunch at a local restaurant this morning with the ladies (Grandma, Aunt Janet, me, and seven of her closest friends -- no Sean), then cake at Grandma's house this afternoon. As we pulled into my grandparents' driveway, Dan & I saw an unfamiliar vehicle -- a new-used, red Mustang convertible -- and I knew immediately exactly what happened. My crazy mother outdid us all on her birthday gift to herself (gee, and I thought I did so good with brunch and the iPod case we got her, hahaha!).

After the birthday bash, Dan, Sean, and I went to the store to grab a few things and when we walked out, there was a fire truck sitting in the parking lot. While Sean was admiring it, the firemen happened to walk out of the store. Sean noticed them immediately (though he thought they were policemen at first... they were wearing blue shirts). They were so incredibly nice, walked right up to us, asked Sean his name, and then asked if he wanted to sit in the truck! Like they needed to ask. They also invited him to pull the cord that sounds the horn, but he wouldn't do it. Once we got him down and they all got back in the truck, Sean gave them each a high-five, then they turned on the lights for him (he loved that!), and they sounded the horn for him just before they drove off. I gotta be honest, I was really impressed by how nice they were and how willing they were to talk to Sean and let him get as involved as he wanted. All the way home, he talked about how he got to sit in the fire truck and how they "did the lights for me!"
